Clear Hearts Children's home

Children - 2007

Since we last created the website four years ago, Yana and Vitya have grown up. Yana has started to walk.

Sasha Vasina came to our family a year ago. Her grandparent with whom she was living passed away, and she was going to be sent to an orphanage. A friend contacted me and asked me if I could help. Now she is 13 years old, she is a very good singer, and dreams to become a pianist. Sasha had a lot of problems in her life, but now after a time in our family she has become a very happy, contented girl.

Jenya Neverov came to our family a few months ago. His teacher from the Orphanage where he grew up, brought him to me.

In Ukraine children must leave the Orphanage at the age of 17, and at this time the Orphanage sent Jenya to study at a Construction college where they would provide a room for him to live. Living at this college is very difficult for children from Orphanages, and it is very common for them to be bullied. The younger students are pushed to drink alcohol and to steal, if they refuse they are beaten. Jenya didn't want to live at the college, and would go to a Computer club every night to escape, returning the next day to study. On a couple of occassions he ran away from the college, and tried to find support from the Orphanage where he had previously lived. They couldn't help him, and could only return him to the college.

When the teacher brought Jenya to my house, he seemed very unhappy and insecure. Now he feels very secure, and enjoys to be a part of our family. He has a talent in drawing, and is learning to play the Guitar. He is helping around the house, making repairs where needed.

Children - 2004

In the year 2000 we took a three year old boy into our family, named Vanya. His mother abandoned him after birth. He was born with deformation of the thorax. Over the years he has grown stronger, and has successfully finished the first year at school, learnt to swim, and lives in a family who loves him. The love and care helps Vanya to cope with his physical defects.

Yana was fourteen months, she was born born premature and with heart disease. Her single mother left her in the maternity home, and remained there until we took her. When I took her from hospital at fourteen months, she weighed only 3kg, could hardly hold her head up, and when laid down could not turn at all. The doctors said there is little chance she can improve.

However, now Yana she already has stronger legs, her teeth are cutting through and hemoglobin levels in her blood have raised.

Misha, 14 years. Two years ago his mother was killed, He lived for some time on the street. Owing to care of his teachers at school, he was not absent, and now he has successfully finished his 7th year. He had a purpose in life and hope.

During 2004 we also accepted three more children into our family - Yana, Vitya and Misha.

Vitya was in the same hospital. His Mum was an alcoholic and abandoned him during his first days of life. He was also weak, with low hemoglobin levels and chronic bronchitis. At eighteen months he had only four teeth. Now Vitya is considerably stronger, his teeth have cut through, and his general condition has improved.
